Dog Treat Recipes

I’m back again today with my dog treat recipe (I know, I know, FINALLY!  Am I right? lol)

I started with some recipes I found on Pinterest, but I didn't want to add any corn meal or flour, so I changed it up and combined a couple different recipes until I came up with my own concoction and my fur baby, CupCake, simply LOVES them!

Here is my basic recipe:

Red Velvet Brownies YUMMO!!!

I love all foods Red Velvet and I found a recipe on Pinterest for Red Velvet Brownies and I just HAD to try it out.

I remember as a kid my mom made Red Velvet cake for me and I fell in love with the flavor!  Especially the Red Velvet Icing!  Mmmmmmm No, not that nasty cream cheese stuff everyone seems to think belongs on one of the BEST cakes in the world!  Actual COOKED Red Velvet Icing!  (Stay tuned for my recipe book in the future as I will be including the recipe in there.)

My Adventures In Quilting Part 4

New update for my quilt! I have it pinned and basted and I'm now quilting it!  Yay!  I only have this pic of it so far. The thing is so HUGE though that I don't think I will have the patience to hand quilt the whole thing.  I think I will hand quilt the center (pictured below) and the sashes and all the solid blocks and machine quilt the log cabin squares.  We will have to see how long my hands hold out.  I have the beginnings of arthritis so there are some evenings that my hands just hurt to much to do any kind of crafts.  I go back to see my doctor next month and hopefully he will give me something to help with that.

My Adventures in Quilting Part 3

Back to crafts! YAY! ROFL

Today I want to share with you a couple of flannel baby quilts I made for my grandbugs!  It's a real easy pattern too!

Aren't they the cutest???  And that's my fur-baby CupCake underneath!

Whitening Brightening Solution

So, I have used white shop towels in my kitchen for years.  It's really nice until they start getting stained and lose their bright white-ness.

Massage Lotion/Cracked Heel Cream

Today I have another DIY recipe, but this time it is my own creation - moisturizing cream.  We use it for back massages and also to help heal dry cracked heels in the summer from all the flip flop wearin'.

Homemade Laundry Liquids

I know that everyone seems to be doing this now but for those of you who know me personally, I thought my endorsement would mean more.  I originally found these recipes on “One GoodThing By Jillee”

I have been using the fabric softener for months now and I really like it.  Here is my version:

You will need one container (approx. 2 cups) of hair conditioner (the cheaper the better I always say.)
3 cups vinegar
1 Tblsp Downy UNstoppables (for scent)
6 cups hot water

That's it, not complicated at all.

My Adventures in Quilting Part 2

The more I create, the more I realize that it’s a big part of who I am.  It seems to come so naturally to me, and makes me feel so “at home.”  I really need to figure out how I can make a living doing what I love to do!  It’s also a de-stressor for me, like reading is.  I travel to my own little world when I’m reading or crafting; very comforting.

I've been working on my quilt and I've made good progress Here is the proof:

My Adventures in Quilting Part 1

First, I wanted to say, if you haven’t joined my blog yet, you will need to do so sometime this year before my blog’s one year anniversary!  I will be having some sort of giveaway but you will have to have joined my blog ->>> (right there) through Google Friend Connect to be eligible!  Just wanted to give everyone a heads up, as I know I have a lot more followers than those who have actually joined my blog!

Today I wanted to show you the quilted potholders I made to match my kitchen.  I have decorated with Corelle’s old pattern of Blue Hearts.  I wanted to make the potholders in a blue heart pattern of some sort.  I have another set that I’m also going to make later on and will share those with you when I do them.

My First PROPER Quilt

It will  be my first PROPER quilt.  I say proper because I don't think my first 2 quilts would qualify as, PROPER.

I made my first quilt as a teenager.  I made it out of old blue jeans and to "quilt" it I just tied yarn in knots at each place the four corners of the blocks connected.  That is how my great grandma Campbell did it and I wasn't aware there was any other way.

My second quilt is a doll quilt I made about 20 years ago.  Here are some pics of it and the coordinating cross stitch pillow I made:

Easy Headbands or Sweatbands

Hello again!  Long time no see! ROFL  I crack myself up sometimes!

Anyway, here is a simple pattern to make easy headbands or sweatbands.

Thrift Store Kitchen Curtain Redesign

Hello!  I hope you are all doing well!
Well, today I’m posting a project that I didn’t plan; it just sort of “happened”.

While I was working on the pillows, I was sorting through my laces, and I came across these kitchen curtains that I purchased a while back from my new favorite place to shop - the thrift store!  I bought them for the lace bottoms but I had inspiration.

Celestial Lamp Shade 4 of 4

Celestial Lamp Shade 4 of 4

Ok, here it is; the last one for today!

I love all things celestial.   I even have my half bath decorated in navy blue and gold suns, moons and stars.  I purchased this celestial material at Hobby Lobby ages ago to cover some stacking boxes (and I still don’t think I've gotten around to that yet! ROFL)  But I decided to cover one of the 3 ugly lampshades with some of the material. (Now, remember, this was BEFORE I realized the white medallions would shine through with the light on! LOL

Shabby Chic Lamp Shades 3 of 4

Ok, here it is. Installment 3 of 4!

No preview image this time; it’s a surprise! lol  Not really. I just started out one way and ended up having to go a whole new direction because of an unforeseen complication.

Remember me telling you about those ugly lampshades I bought?  Well here they are; the first of 3.

Wow!  Less than a week and I’m back already!  Cool! And woohoo!!! I finished the first four shabby chic lamp shades!  I still have one more to finish, as you will see later, plus I still need to cover my own shade from my bedroom.  I will post them when I get them finished!

Breast Cancer Awareness Gifts

I can’t believe it’s been over a month since we've talked!  I am sorry for neglecting you!  I've been busy working on projects and taking pics to upload, I promise!  And I will share them with you once they are finished.  Right now I’m working on several lampshades (and another I need to start for myself lol).  That will be my next project to share with you.  After those are finished I will be working on pillow covers and after that I’m going to start quilting again.  One big one for my bed and smaller ones for pot holders I think.  Maybe even some mug rugs too once I get on a roll!
