Hello again!
Long time no see! ROFL I crack
myself up sometimes!
Anyway, here is a simple pattern to make easy headbands or sweatbands.
First measure and cut your material 36” long and 4’
wide. Fold the strip, right sides together lengthwise, and cut
the ends at a 45 degree angle. Stitch a ¼”
seam to make a tube but sew one end closed and leave the other end open for
now. Turn the tube right side out and
iron it flat so that the seam is just a bit more on the back than the front,
like in the next pic:
Here is a close-up.
Turn the edges of the other end, in towards the
insides and iron flat. Stitch this end
closed and continue stitching (top stitching) close to the edge, around the band
until you stitch over the opposite end (don’t stitch the top edge of the band, unless you want to of course.)
All that’s left is to tie it around your head; under
your hair for a hair band and around your forehead for a sweatband!
Variation – If you would rather make them with a Velcro
closure, shorten your measurement to 31” instead of 36".
I made these for sweetie. He wears them to work.
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!
